DevOps Engineer - Remote

Our Client, a multinational telecommunications technology company has an urgent and immediate need DevOps Engineer. The Client is seeking a passionate, results-oriented, and innovative individual to contribute to our client's Platform development and PaaS ecosystem built for a Kubernetes-based environment. The PaaS is built largely on open-source technologies such as Nginx, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and Istio/envoy.

The successful candidate will be able to leverage their expertise in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps best practices, and Application Development to support and guide a product team that is building a transformative cloud platform. The individual needs to have a proven background in DevOps automation with strong skills in AWS services and architectures, Linux virtualization, the Kubernetes ecosystem and Helm.

Our client works in a Scrum environment where it's every team member's responsibility to ensure SDLC best practices are followed. This role will focus on various aspects of the Kubernetes ecosystem, CICD, as well as other components of the container PaaS.

Required Skills

Job Requirements

- At least 6 years of relevant work experience to include systems administration and/or software engineering in AWS
- At least 4 years of experience building test automation or infrastructure as code
- At least 4 years of experience building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins
- Strong experience with Microservices and related deployment technologies to include GitLab, Helm, Helmfile
- Architects, designs, implements, and advocates for automation and infrastructure as code
- Applied experience with orchestrator and provisioning technologies for container-based platforms, specifically Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
- Consulting with development and operations teams to help the leverage our platform and tools on which to run their containerized applications
- Collaborating with architecture and engineering groups to build a self-service platform that streamlines application developer productivity and throughput
- Experience in Linux-based systems
- Experience in Python, shell scripting, and git
- Experience building and scaling high-performing distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of network programming and cloud infrastructure
- Knowledge of Istio/envoy service mesh
- AWS administration skills
- Proficiency in security implementation best practices including AWS Security Groups, IAM Roles, and Key Management
- Proven excellence in communication, root cause analysis authoring, and consulting skillsets in English.
- Proven experience in analyzing and troubleshooting production workloads in AWS infrastructure.
- Ability to work US-time zone overlapping hours.
- Ability to work on-call rotation for critical issue escalations.
