IT Systems / Network Administrator (L1/L2)

Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients, is seeking an IT Systems/Network Engineer (L1/L2) to oversee day-to-day IT infrastructure and operations, enterprise software deployment and data security for their client located in Washington DC (near East End neighborhood). This role reports to the Sr. Vice President of Digital & Data.

The initial contract is for 6 months with the potential to extend or convert based on job performance and business needs. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite 5-days per week in the East End of Washington DC.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Build, implement, manage and troubleshoot all aspects of customer's technology infrastructure.
- Responsible for the configuration, administration, maintenance, and documentation of the IT infrastructure, to include computers and networks, software, systems, applications, connectivity, A/V and communications.
- Support customer teams in day-to-day management of SaaS tools for core business operations (Slack, Dropbox, Zoom, etc.)
- Assist in the documentation, review, and enforcement of IT best practices, standards and guidelines.
- Work with internal stakeholders, industry partners and team members drive pilot studies of new technologies.
- Provide technical support and root cause analysis for problem solving to continuously improve user experience and strengthen business applications.
- Responsible for all user accounts, passwords, firewalls, data assurance, backups, encryption
- Establish, test, and deploy enterprise identity management and mobile device management.
- Support customer teams to evaluate prospective software and hardware solutions that address critical business functions
- Proactively monitor and report on Internet threats, security exploits and prevention
- Develop contingency plans, encryption technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and/or vulnerability management

Required Skills

- Must be a US Citizen due to client requirement
- B.S. or B.A. degree in MIS, CIS, CS, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience with Open Source software, networking equipment, TCP/IP protocols, MS Windows, Linux, Mac OS and mobile operating systems/applications administration
- System administration experience with hardware systems, and software applications such as: Google Apps for Business, Box, Expensify, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple IOS, Android OS, Mobile Device Platforms, and recent experience with Meraki-Cisco devices
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of TCP/IP networking architectures, services, products, and best practices
- Thorough understanding of IP Addressing and subnets as it relates to creating and maintaining the following: OSPF, RIP, VLANS, MLPPP, MPLS, QoS, BGP
- Prior experience configuring and deploying identity management and single sign-on highly desirable.
- Must be willing to accommodate occasional travel to customer warehouses in Los Angeles and Louisiana as needed
