Test Engineer - Planning and Scheduling (P&S) - CGE

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has multiple openings for Planning and Scheduling (P&S) Test Engineers responsible for common ground enterprise (CGE) integration of GDMS Mission Unique Software for Mission Planning and Scheduling (P&S) including designing an algorithm for automated scheduling of a 3000 satellite constellation.

You'll be part of a cross functional team to provide system Level testing including integration, verification and validation (V&V) of Ground Resource Management (GRM), Network Management (NM), C2, Flight Dynamics (FD), Planning & Scheduling (P&S), Mission Planning (MP), and Fire Control Element (FCE)


This role is fully remote with the ability to travel to Scottsdale, AZ or Pittsburgh, PA as needed.

Required Skills

- Due to the nature of work being performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret cleareance
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.
- COTS tool experience with spacecraft and ground P&S software products
- Experience with CCSDS (interoperability) orbital messages including Orbit Parameter Message (OPM), Orbit Ephemeris Message (OEM), and Orbit Mean-Elements Message (OMM)
- Experience with P&S product trade space including scheduling algorithms and open source projects available to automate manual tasks
- MBSE experience and flow to integration and test (I&T) for verification and validation
- System Level test experience including Mission Planning (MP) and P&S algorithms related to communication schedule optimization, orbital maneuver planning automation, software rollout planning and execution automation
- System test procedure creation, integration, requirement verification and system level validation
- Experience with test script automation including FD capabilities
- Test engineer that understands the importance of Test and System Engineering ownership "cradle to grave" on a fast paced system design program
