Our client, a premier Federal Healthcare Insurance organization in Washington DC, has an immediate long term contract opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to help with automation tasks within a hybrid on/off prem environment. Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software ranging from operating system architecture integration and software design to selection of computer systems, language, and/or equipment. Designs, develops/codes, tests, and documents critical and complex application programs for computer systems. Works with appropriate stakeholders to define system scope and objectives and establish baselines. Establishes project standards and processes. Breaks down software requirements and creates highly complex systems.

This position is 100% remote with onsite vists 1-2 times per quarter at our clients Reston VA or Washington DC office. We are seeking candidates that reside in the DC, MD, VA area or WV, PA as secondary options.

Required Skills

- 6+ Years of DevOps Engineering Experience.
- Must haves: SonarQube, Artifacotry, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Linux, Python, basic Java/SDLC understanding
- DevOps Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience designing and building scalable solutions integrating technologies in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
- Experience in the design and development of deployment frameworks that comprise multiple technologies supporting goals of continuous integration and deployment to hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments.
- Experience in the development of integration with source repositories, code quality tools, development of pipelines especially using pipeline as code implementations.
- Experience architecting and automating cloud technologies, deploying apps, and provisioning infrastructure
- Scripting and process Automation experience required
- Experience in using container technologies
- Experience integrating and supporting a variety of cloud tools and technologies such as Terraform, Configuration Manager, and others.
- Solid knowledge of Java/J2EE methodology and frameworks
- Knowledge of WebSphere MQ
- Solid working knowledge of software development practices, preferred using Agile practices.
- Solid working knowledge of Python
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Experience with cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, including Jenkins, Bambo, ArgoCD, and/or GitLab
- Good to have hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture such as Kubernetes, containers, serverless (lambda) etc.
- Be able to articulate implementations and experience around DevSecOps and have knowledge of tools and products in this space
- Very strong verbal, written, and presentation skills and (Critical)
- Ability to facilitate technical requirements gathering and design sessions
