Elite Technical is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our client, a major Healthcare Insurance Payor in our nations capital. This position is a contract to permanent opportunity and is mostly remote (1-2 onsite visits per month is required in the DC Metro/Virginia/Baltimore area). This position also requires occasional weekend support (one weekend per month).
The selected candidate will be a liaison between the infrastructure, Software and Quality teams to implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support application deployments. DevOps and Support cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), EKS Kubernetes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains CI/CD pipelines, performs application release deployments in Test and Production environments. Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Groovy to streamline operational processes and deployments. Collaborate with development and testing teams to enhance system scalability, performance, and reliability. Submit change management tickets, represent on the CAB calls.
- Manage, monitor, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based production environments. Support container orchestration platforms such as Podman and Kubernetes and develop POC using AWS Services.
- Must be able to be available for weekend support based on the application release deployments and maintenance activities. One Saturday per month (on average)
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree - In lieu of a bachelor-s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
- Must have outstanding communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience: 5 years as a DevOps Engineer
- Advanced Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using Groovy
- Understanding of container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS
- Understanding of microservice concepts
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch
- Experience with code management systems (Git)
- Experience maintaining Java web applications (Spring Boot)
- Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
