Immediate, long term contract opportunity for a Ab Initio Developer in the DC Metro/Reston VA area (WV also acceptable)!! Our client, a premier Federal Healthcare organization, has an urgent need for a Production Support ETL Ab Initio Developer, with Linux and Python, to provide hands-on Lead ETL production support for their Big Data (Hadoop/Cloudera) platforms. The selected candidate will monitor the production of different batch jobs, break them down and provide support to for any failures. This is a production support environment, so new code development is not the focus within this department (this person will be looking at how systems are behaving with new jobs, breakdown the jobs, and provide resolution efforts for any failed jobs). Candidates with an automation background utilizing Control-M is highly preferred.

We are seeking candidates with hands on experience dealing with large volumes of data and able to move data to different sources. Additionally, we are seeking candidates the can design high performance ETL graphs, and has basic knowledge around Big Data related technologies. Hands on experience with AWS is required.

Required Skills

- Bachelors degree in computer science, decision support systems (DSS), information engineering, business administration, or other related discipline. Master-s degree in a related discipline is a plus.
- 10+ years ETL / Ab Initio Development, with 3 years of Team Lead experience
-Must have technology stack: Hadoop, Linux, Python, basic AWS Cloud knowledge
-Big Big Plus: Control-M for automation purposes.
-Strong SQL and data modelling
- Hands on experience with AWS.
-Experience with hands-on work designing and implementing data integration, Big Data, and/or business intelligence solutions
- Experience in design, development and tuning industry leading ETL, Big Data, and/or Business Intelligence software tools in data intensive, large scale environments.
- Hands-on Ab Initio ETL experience in a work (professional) setting.
- Hands-on development experience with Hadoop and the Hadoop ecosystem including tools such as Hive, Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Sqoop, Flume, etc.
