Embedded Software Engineer - Tactical Radio

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Tactical Radio Embedded Software Engineer for Advanced Electronics Systems responsible for designing and building uniquely resilient hardware and software to ensure mission success in contested environments.-

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain embedded software applications using C/C++ programming language
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software and hardware components
- Perform debugging, testing, and optimization of embedded systems
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices
- Document software design, code, and unit tests
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company processes

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to work being performed
- Able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (active Secret is preferred)
- BS degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree.
- Agile experience is preferred
- Exceptional experience with C and/or C++
- Proven experience with low-level driver development
- Experience with unit test frameworks
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C)
- Programming languages such as Rust, Python, MATLAB
- Linux operating systems knowledge (Drivers, networking, system services, etc.)
- Multi-threaded and multi-core programming
- Network protocols and socket programming
- Cryptographic techniques and secure boot is a plus
- Automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) git pipelines is a plus
