Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Sr. FPGA Engineer for their Torpedo Systems Group in Canonsburg, PA or Middleton, RI. You will work with engineering teams to develop, deliver, and maintain software and firmware products.
Additionally, you will be the government customer onsite and frontline engineering representative as needed and when new products are delivered to help with installation, troubleshooting issues, and assist in corrective actions across several development programs.-
Duties and Tasks:
- Contribute to design, verification and documentation for FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments
- Participates in architecture, system simulation and detailed design approach
- Defines module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
- Evaluates the process flow including but not limited to high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing and power utilization
- Verifies test results and analyzes performance
- Develops and presents requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, teammates and customer
- Participates in the improvement of the FPGA organizational processes
- Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to pass a background check including criminal, credit, education, employment and drug test.
- Prior experience contributing to the development of new theories and methods in FPGA engineering
- Expert knowledge of Software Source Control tools and concepts (Git preferred)
- Proven experience with hardware troubleshooting using tools such as DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators, etc.-
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience writing in C and Multithreaded programming
- Experience working with Real Time Operating Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to establish strong relationships
- Provides resolution to problems to a diverse range of complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativity
