Hospital Administrator

Our Client, a Major Pet Health care company is seeking a Hospital Administrator. This person serves as the operational leader of the hospital and is responsible for overseeing all non-medical business functions while partnering closely with the Medical Director and hospital leadership team to ensure outstanding patient care, financial performance, employee engagement, and client satisfaction.

Hospital Operations:

- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital.
- Ensure efficient hospital operations across all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Develop and improve workflows that maximize patient care, client experience, and team efficiency.
- Partner with department leaders to identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions.
- Ensure hospital readiness, organization, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Support hospital growth initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.

Financial Management:

- Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
- Monitor hospital financial performance and key business metrics.
- Review and analyze monthly Profit & Loss statements.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining exceptional patient care.
- Monitor revenue, labor expenses, inventory costs, and operating efficiencies.
- Partner with finance and regional leadership to achieve hospital financial goals.
- Evaluate pricing strategies and recommend fee adjustments as appropriate.

Required Skills

Required Skills:

- Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in veterinary medicine, preferably within a specialty or emergency hospital.
- Previous experience managing a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital or large multi-specialty practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Veterinary Management, or equivalent business experience.
- Demonstrated success leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary hospital operations and workflow management.
- Experience with recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
- Proven financial management experience, including budgeting and P&L analysis.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Advanced communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience utilizing veterinary practice management software.

Preferred:

• Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM)
• Veterinary Technician background strongly preferred.
• Experience in specialty referral medicine.
• Experience leading organizational change and hospital growth initiatives.
• Multi-site leadership experience is a plus.
