Our client is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support the Department of Energy (DOE). Hiring locations include: Albuquerque (Area), NM, Roswell, NM, Las Cruces, NM, Carlsbad, NM, Alamogordo, NM, Clovis, NM & El Paso, TX. For candidates located outside of Carlsbad, NM, must be willing to travel to Carlsbad, NM once a month to provide on-site support (on-site support subject to contract changes.) Responsibilities include:

- Maintains and administers an archive/backup/and disaster recovery solution/system on Windows, Linux, and Solaris using Bacula.
- Administers Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Solaris Servers including support of web servers, file servers, execution servers, database servers, document management server and software.
- Proficiency in accomplishing tasks via command line in Linux.
- Assists in managing Dell Linux clusters.
- Assists in maintaining and administering network connectivity between geographically separated client offices.
- Programs and manages network switches, routers and firewalls.
- Maintains and provides monthly as well as special requested documentation pertinent to the set up and maintenance of computer systems and their software.

Required Skills

- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience. Or associate degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline and 8 years of relevant experience. Or 10 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience with administering and maintaining high-performance complex computer networks and legacy computer systems and software with NQA-1 QA requirements such as those associated with the DOE and WIPP projects.
- Background as a Administrator in Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Solaris Servers including support of web servers, file servers, execution servers, database servers, document management server and software.
