Mac Systems Administrator


Immediate, fulltime/direct opportunity for a highly qualified Macintosh Systems Administrator at the Subject Matter Expert (SME) level to support the United States Naval Observatory (USNO) in Washington, DC as it deploys and maintains the new Precise Time and Astrometry Network, as well as with the successful migration of applications from the old to new Networks. The Macintosh Systems Administrator will be required:

- To work independently and is relied upon and the Senior Lead for MAC iPad, iPhone, and Laptop related life cycle management
- Engage and provide customer support to USNO departments (Astrometry Department [AD], Earth Orientation [EO], Astronomical Applications [AA], and USNO-Flagstaff [NOFS])
- Engage with Information Assurance staff to ensure compliance with DoD requirements
- Prepare and maintain documentation
- Deploy MAC images to laptops
- Sustain updates and life cycle OS management
- Configure mobile device management within JAMF
- Support all new enrollments, whether Administrator, Auditor, or user
- Add, delete, modifiy user profiles within JAMF
- Build and deploy group policies
- Enact patch management
- Knowledgeable in the implementation of automated Mobile Device Management
- Knowledgeable in the implementation of vulnerability and security scanning techniques within JAMF Pro
- Knowledgeable in the implementation and maintenance of MAC registration within Azure Active Directory or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol within a Windows authentication environment

This position is a hybrid opportunity in Washington DC (after proper onsite orientation efforts are completed). This position also requires an active DOD SECRET Clearance. Required Skills


- Active Secret Clearance is required
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to hold a Privileged Access account prior to onboarding, by at minimum obtaining Security Plus certification or any DoD accepted equivalent certification for such access under DoD 8570 compliant at IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level 2
- A JAMF Certification OR Apple related Certification is Required
- 5 years experience in Macintosh administration of enterprise systems to include experience with JAMF-Pro for managing Macintosh systems
- Experience working on a development team under DoD/DIA Risk Management Framework
- Experience with multiple configuration management tools and resources
- BIG PLUS: Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA), or higher
