Elite Technical is seeking a Senior or Lead Mainframe z/OS Systems Engineer to support the mainframe platform and environments and help in the maintenance, transformation, and modernization of our client's mainframe technology stack. We are specifically seeking candidates that have strong RACF Security expertise.

Tasks:
- Lead and participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of mainframe system engineering activities.
- Work with existing mainframe managed service provider to improve and optimize services to internal and external customers and improve resiliency and availability of the z/OS mainframe platform.
- Analyze and recommend improvements to the scalability and resiliency of applications and systems running on Z platform.
- Provide hands on technical support for incident assessment and resolution for restoration of service.
- Support problem Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

This position is a hybrid opportunity and will require a second round onsite/F2F interview at our clients location in Reston VA. This position is also a contract to permanent opportunity with our client.

* Education Level: Bachelor's Degree (In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.)
* Infrastructure engineer with a minimum of 8-10 years experience supporting IBM zOS Systems in a SYSPLEX environment with the following skills:
- RACF -Security Administration 5-10 years experience (critically important)
- ZOS - Systems Programmer 5-10 years of experience
- CICS TS -Systems Programming 5 -10 years of experience
- MQ - 5-10 years Systems Programming
- DB2 - 5-10 years usage , doesn-t have to be at Systems Programming level
- ISV Production installation experience
- General Systems Automation support (IBM System Automation)
- General Batch Scheduling support - Control-M

Strongly Desired Skills:
1. SYSPLEX and ICF configuration and tuning. Experience in de-coupling Sysplex environment is a plus.
2. Experience with Middleware interfaces such as AIX, WebSphere, Networks, LDAP is preferred
3. Working knowledge of network communication protocols (TCPIP)
4. Excellent knowledge of hardware infrastructure of IBM z16 and Dell/EMC storage subsystems.
5. Pervasive encryption on z/OS
6. Ransomware solutioning for mainframe
7. Java/J2EE
8. DB2/UDB
9. Healthcare Insurance industry exp is a plus
