Immediate long term contract opportunity for an SDET Professional that resides in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia area. The selected candidate will design, develop/code, test, and document application programs for computer systems supporting our customer, a major Healthcare Insurance.

The selected SDET will work with appropriate stakeholders to define system scope and objectives. Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software ranging from operating system, architecture integration, and software design to selection of computer systems, language, and/or equipment. Performs in accordance with established project standards and processes. Breaks down software requirements and creates highly complex systems.

Required Skills

- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.)
- 3-5 years of SDET/Automation Engineering experience utilizing Selenium/Java and Cucumber
- Must have healthcare insurance industry experience, specifically within the Claims processing and Adjudication fields.
- Must have Jira experience
- 3 years software development experience in object-oriented language. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C, Python, .NET Framework, Java, etc.). Java is most appealing
- Knowledge of test-first practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) for unit tests and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) for automated acceptance tests
- Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
