Network Administrator

Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients, is seeking a Network Administrator to support an existing commercial customer in the food industry with a global presence. The Network Administrator will be responsible for development, maintenance, and support of technology platforms, infrastructure security, and operational support for customer. The environment consists of Cisco and some Palo Alto.

The position is 100% Onsite Monday to Friday. Our client is looking to onboard as a 3 month contract with the option to extend to 6 months or convert based on job performance and business need.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and usage of the company's local area network.
- Maintain technology operating platforms including but not limited to operating systems, security tools, server applications, servers, email systems, software, and hardware.
- Install, configure, operate, maintain, monitor, manage, and troubleshoot networks (e.g., routers, switches, cabling, etc.).
- Establish and implement network policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and company's objectives.
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, and print services
- Ensure security standards through routine/scheduled audits of backups, firewalls, and policies.
- Responsible for managing network performance and the maintenance of network security, ensuring security procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Configure and manage Internet Protocol (IP) address space and VLANs, issue IP addresses for new equipment/workstations and troubleshoot IP address issues.
- Provide operational support in accordance with service level agreements; Recommend corrective action to restore systems during an outage.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Maintain the plant infrastructure availability level of 99.9% or better. Report, investigate and resolve any issue preventing achievement of 99.9% availability.
- Remain current with evolving technological products and features and constantly changing business needs, internal standards, and industry best practice.
- Mentor, train and provide guidance to plant end users as needed; provide technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Required Skills

- Four-year related degree and/or related experience
- Minimum of 2 years related experience in field.
- Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience and Knowledge with Cisco network infrastructure and Microsoft operating environments
- Experience with cyber security including network intrusion, endpoint security, monitoring
- Well-developed conflict management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work with confidential files and/or materials
