Elite Technical is currently in search of a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our customers team in Washington DC (onsite, 5x per week). As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients network infrastructure. You will be responsible for completing testing, evaluating data, and ensuring the acceptability of equipment modifications and test procedures. This role also involves supporting professional engineers in experimental and research activities, utilizing technical engineering methods, applications, practices, and principles. Role and Responsibilities:
1. Network Configuration: Configure, install, and maintain network equipment and devices, including routers, switches, and access points, with a focus on radio frequency (RF) and microwave technologies.
2. Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and security to identify and resolve any issues promptly. Implement monitoring tools to ensure the reliability of RF and microwave network components.
3. Cable Pulling and Physical Installation: Perform cable pulling and physical installations as needed to support network projects.
4. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network problems related to RF and microwave technologies, such as signal interference or propagation issues.
5. Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data.
6. Network Optimization: Optimize network performance by tuning RF and microwave equipment, adjusting frequencies, and minimizing interference.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures related to RF and microwave technologies.
8. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration, upgrades, and expansion projects involving RF and microwave equipment.
9. Support and Maintenance: Provide technical support and maintenance for RF and microwave components, ensuring network reliability and uptime.
- Possess an active Top-Secret clearance.
- Possession of a valid and current CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
-Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or HS Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
-BIG PLUS: Background in radio frequency and microwave work, including experience in developing or evaluating electronic systems.
- A minimum of 6 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on network hardware, software, installations, firewalls, LAN/WAN, and configuration of network devices.
- Experience with cable pulling and physical network installations is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in the administration and support of network workstations and strong software imaging expertise.
- Proven experience as a Team Lead and trainer for new technicians, highlighting your leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Expertise in Cat5/6 cabling and a successful track record in data center migrations.
- Proficiency in configuring VOIP systems, patch panels, Cisco servers, and Wireless Access Points (WAP). - Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively.
