Plant Manager

Our Client is seeking an experienced operations leader to manage production including print, fulfillment, fabrication, packaging and warehouse located in Lenexa, KS. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position oversees scheduling of jobs, ensures orders are processed in a quality and timely manner in a high-volume print operation. Incumbent addresses quality issues and coordinates with direct reports to resolve. Coordinates with sales/customer service staff to answer questions and resolve customer issues. Analyzes departmental budgets and determines changes in programs and operational procedures. Position directly supervises 3-5 managers and oversees all department support workforces. Ensures large scale equipment and presses are maintained for optimum performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plans and directs production activities, establishing priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Reviews and analyzes production quality control and maintenance operational reports to determine causes of deviance from product specifications.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve product quality.
- Interact with Sales & Customer Service teams to ensure timelines are met
- Serves as the escalation point for customer order issues and other operations issues as they arise.
- Proficient in dye-sublimation production processes including forecasting of material / labor projections for large campaigns to include print, sewing and fabrication necessary to meet customer demands.
- Ability to adjust production schedules to manage rush jobs
- Oversees (with management) the establishment of production and quality control standards.
- Develops budget and cost controls for all plant operational activities.
- Coordinates with management to revise production schedules as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
- Consults with technical sales representatives and engineering firms relative to equipment acquisitions or modifications in order to improve production and quality of printing.
- Selects, trains, and reviews the performance of plant management personnel. Confers with management regarding salary adjustments for operations personnel.
- Ensures OSHA and safety standards are maintained.
- Attends various industry and trade association meetings, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of technological and operational management trends.

- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Available for weekend work shifts & extended work hours
Limited travel required, not more than 20%, typically between Plants and corporate offices. Candidate must be able to commute within their metro area and travel in the United States as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in high volume print operations which include 3 years supervisory responsibility for plants with of 100-150 employees.
- Hands on experience managing Digital Print, Fulfillment, Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse, Customer Service, and facilities and equipment maintenance.
- Experience with G7 Master print processes preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree in business or related field desired.
