Elite Technical is seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist for a Global, dynamic Medical Device organization.

This individual will have a unique opportunity to work across externally facing Digital Health initiatives as well internal data efforts to enable advanced analytics for the enterprise.

This individual will have both a hands-on and strategic role in data science and data engineering efforts and will also help to define the future team structure and roles needed to accelerate advanced analytics within the organization.

Responsibilities include:
•Development of predictive and diagnostic algorithms to support Digital Health initiatives through collaboration and physical or virtual collocation with a Digital Health application product development team
•Assess internal data and processes to determine opportunities for application of advanced analytics to support internal business operations
•Development of advanced analytics capabilities to improve internal business efficiencies
•Collaborate with leadership on development and execution of advanced analytics strategic and tactical road maps
•Train junior data engineers on advanced analytics tools, models, etc. and provide technical leadership for the IT organization
•Analyze the analytics needs of functional departments, divisions and regions and makes recommendations for implementing advanced analytics solutions to support functional initiatives
•Work collaboratively with cross-functional and technical teams to provide strategic direction to global groups and serve as an advocate to promote the benefits of existing and new analytics platforms and capabilities

Required Skills

•Master’s level degree in engineering, statistics or mathematics
•Seasoned, professional data scientist with 5-7 years of experience in healthcare industry
•Expert in math and statistics with demonstrated ability using data to make intelligent business predictions and continually improves the way the company uses data
• Experience managing or leading junior data scientists or teams with data engineering roles
• Experience with agile methodology, design thinking, and lean startup approach
• Experience with healthcare algorithms, their implementation and integration into healthcare systems and workflows
•Strong communication skills and ability to interact with business stakeholders at varying levels in the organization
•Able to understand/define business problem statements clearly
•Multiple domain specialties in data and analytics
•Understands statistical and ML/AL algorithms and how different parameters impact outcomes
•Able to explain findings (statistical and analytical) to business partners and what they mean from business perspective, defines business value
•Working knowledge of emerging cloud AI platforms and vendor’s analytics offerings
•Have broad experience and expertise working with various technologies such as Python, SQL, R, SAS, Apache Spark MLib, Scala, BigML, D3, MATLAB, Google AI, Google Analytics, TensorFlow, Microsoft CNTK, Tableau and other frameworks and libraries for AI
•Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems which includes strong documentation skills, experience with Software-as-a-Medical Device a plus
•Experience with software development life cycle, Waterfall, Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies
