Our Client, a multi-national telecommunications technology is seeking an experienced Project manager in Toronto that has banking experience and has managed projects related to credit card implementation and support.
Program Leadership & Governance:
- Chair and run program meetings, ensuring clear agendas, decisions, and follow-ups.
- Consolidate status updates from multiple lines of business and present executive-level dashboards.
- Act as a trusted delegate for the Program Delivery Director, making informed decisions in her absence.
- Assist in building and maturing the PMO framework for the program.
Delivery Management:
- Develop and maintain an integrated project plan, consolidating inputs from multiple teams.
- Drive Agile delivery across squads, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Manage a squad consisting of Tech Lead, 4-6 Developers, and 2-3 Testers.
- Oversee coordination of vendor resources and internal teams (up to 50-60 people).
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Engage with senior business sponsors and technology leaders, probing and asking the right questions.
- Push back effectively on vendors and internal stakeholders when necessary to protect program objectives.
- Ensure alignment across business units, technology teams, and external partners.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years Project Management experience
- Core Banking Expertise: Experience with Thought Machine or similar platforms (Temenos, Finastra, etc.).
- Banking Domain Knowledge: Mandatory experience in retail or commercial banking transformation.
- Agile Delivery: Proven track record managing Agile squads and large-scale programs.
- Vendor Management: Strong ability to challenge vendors and negotiate deliverables.
- System Integration: Hands-on experience with complex integration projects.
- Leadership: Ability to manage large teams (50-60 people) and influence senior stakeholders.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting.
- Decision-Making: Comfortable making educated decisions on behalf of leadership.
- Previous CIBC Experience: Highly desirable for familiarity with internal processes and culture.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with Thought Machine.
- Cloud migration experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- PMO setup experience in large banking programs.
