Our Client, a global leader in delivering diverse Technologies is seeking a SQL Server DBA that will maintain, enhance, and further develop a long-lifespan, stored-procedure-centric application. This role ensures performant and reliable data operations through expert query tuning, stored procedure development, SSRS reporting, and robust database design. You will translate complex client requirements into actionable technical tasks while supporting a normalized, multi-module environment.
Core Mission of the role:
Own and improve a stored-procedure-centric SQL Server environment by maintaining and enhancing a large T-SQL codebase.
Ensure strong database performance through tuning, indexing, and diagnostics.
Deliver accurate, well-presented SSRS reporting for non-technical clients.
Partner with the client and RESPEC consultants to translate business requirements into database design and implementation.
Execute work through a help-desk-triaged ticket flow with clear prioritization and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Legacy Platform Ownership:
- Maintain, refactor, and optimize T-SQL codebase (queries, stored procedures, functions) across OBMS modules.
- Perform query tuning, indexing, and performance diagnostics for large/complex databases.
Reporting:
- Design, develop, and deploy SSRS reports; ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues; document processes and provide user support for reporting tools.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with internal client managers, operations, and finance to capture requirements and convert to technical solutions.
- Work tickets triaged by a help desk; manage priorities and communicate status/risks clearly.
Design & Implementation:
- Contribute to database design patterns for new/enhanced modules; support ETL/data integration where applicable.
Governance & Quality:
- Document changes, follow change management, and uphold best practices for legacy environments.

Required Skills:
Experience: 7-10+ years with hands-on SQL Server experience in production environments with a heavy emphasis on stored procedure usage.
Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in query tuning and performance optimization for large, complex databases (e.g. execution plan analysis, indexing strategies).
Reporting Expertise: Experience in the full SSRS development lifecycle, from design of the queries used, to the report, to deployment.
Communication: Strong consulting orientation with the ability to effectively communicate to both technical team members and non-technical clients/stakeholders.
Seniority and Attitude: A seasoned professional capable of navigating a large codebase and dealing with a steep learning curve.
