Immediate long term contract opportunity for a Security Engineer with specific expertise with IBM Guardium and has a solid foundational understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) security solutions. Tasks include:
- Implement database activity monitoring, sensitive data discovery and data loss prevention, and data at rest encryption controls.
- Identify applications that transmit sensitive data, assess controls in place to ensure protection, and share remediation findings.
- Collaborate with internal Information Security SMEs, and project team members.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks based on best practices.
- Provide subject matter expertise to scope refinement, work breakdown structure, and time estimation meetings.
- Interact with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve product issues and defects.
- Provide status updates to all levels of Cyber Security management including program and project management staff.
- Provide data which contributes to operational performance metrics.
Although this position is 100% remote right now, our client does plan to return to their office in Washington DC at some point this year (2022) - The selected candidate must be okay with coming onsite when deemed necessary. This is a long term contract opportunity!

- This position requires a bachelor-s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or relevant work experience in data security engineering and operations.
- Proven ability to engineer and design solution for IBM Guardium DAM, Guardium VA, and Guardium GDE.
- Experience with administrating IBM Guardium, IBM Guardium Data Encryption or Vormetric, and DLP tool
- Strong experience with security information and event management (SIEM).
- Relevant business and systems subject matter expertise - especially in data security, data encryption, and data discovery, and data loss prevention.
- Proven experience supporting data security and/or security projects as a Lead Engineer.
- Demonstrated business process analysis, Work flow, task analysis, user-acceptance testing and requirements analysis knowledge.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects concurrently.
