Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has multiple long-term contract openings for Senior Systems Engineers TO be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.

Responsibilities:

- Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, and system design and definition
- Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
- Facilitate discussions with senior levels of Customer Stakeholders

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (active Secret is preferred)
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 8 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.

Technical Background:

- Demonstrated Satellite communications knowledge
- Satellite constellation contact planning experience
- Ground operations experience
- Performs design of networks, with working knowledge of networking protocols
- Performs detailed technical analyses for a software subsystem or system elements
- Experience in Software functional analysis and interface definitions, including Application Programing Interface experience
