Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has an immediate need for a Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer to make the world's most advanced Digital Signal Processing Components even smarter. You will be part of an innovative team which works to solve complex problems where the solutions provide truly meaningful results. This role is for a C/C++ Software Engineer translating algorithms from DSP to real-time processing.
The initial contract is for 12-months with the potential to extend or convert based on job performance and business need. The position is 100% onsite at our client's facility in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, design and model world class signal processing algorithms for complex integrated HW/SW systems
- Performance evaluation of signal processing solutions
- Develop testing criteria and execute validation of designs
- Work effectively in multi-disciplined engineering teams where communication and innovation is key.

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
- Bachelor-s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with emphasis in Digital Signal Processing, Communication Theory, Wireless Communications, or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master-s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of C/C++ software development in Unix/Linux operating systems
- Strong understanding of software development tools such as integrated development environments (IDE) as well as version control systems and defect reporting tools
- Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in GPUs
- Experience working in a fast-paced development environment focused on fielding complex signal processing solutions
- Proficient in signal processing algorithm development in MATLAB or Python
- Demonstrated problem-solving, verbal and written communication, presentation and organizational skills
- Proven technical leadership skills ability to generate and deliver creative problem solutions
- Strong ability to manage tasks and projects independently with urgency
- Proven record of continued self-improvement of skills
