Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer (CCNP level) with strong firewall, routing and switching to provide onsite network engineering, implementation, and integration support within the customer-s secured network environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary onsite engineering interface between the Customer and our client's delivery teams.
- Act as a conduit and between our client's teams to ensure needs are routed appropriately, including the ability to reach back to our client's SMEs as well as resources from across their OEM partner portfolio that could include ticket support/resolution, architecture guidance, and best practices as well as training and education opportunities that could benefit the end-client.
- Support approved network engineering and implementation activities across routing, switching, wireless, and firewall infrastructure.
- Serve as the onsite coordination point for engineering-related activities, ensuring alignment between Customer priorities and our client's delivery teams as well as engaging directly with the OEM partners critical to end-client operations.
- Support engineering changes impacting architecture or tooling and provides engineering context when required and can assist in coordination between the teams to collectively address situations where assessment and alignment of the team is necessary for continued operations within the end-client's environment.
- Support Zero Trust initiatives, RMF-aligned technical control implementation, and R&D experimentation through hands-on engineering and integration activities.
- Must be US Citizen due to client requirement
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- Current CCNP is a plus
- Able to work onsite Monday to Friday
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering
- Strong Routing & Switching: Cisco (IOS-XE/NX-OS), strong L2/L3 fundamentals (BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
- Strong Firewalls/Security: Hands-on with Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto or Fortinet
- Strong Network Engineering Experience: Implementation, upgrades, and integration (not just operations)
- Zero Trust Exposure: Practical understanding aligned to NIST guidance
- RMF / Compliance: Experience with RMF, STIGs, or ATO environments
- Multi-Vendor Integration: Ability to work across OEMs and coordinate solutions
Nice-to-Have
- Wireless: Cisco or Aruba wireless engineering
- SIEM / Monitoring: Splunk, QRadar, or similar exposure
- Network Automation: Python, Ansible
- Cloud Networking: AWS or Azure hybrid networking
- NAC / Identity: Cisco ISE, ClearPass, or identity-driven access
- Tools: ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
