Our client, a multinational telecommunications technology company, is looking for a Software Development Engineer contractor to independently design, build, and deliver software components that support AI-driven applications and machine learning systems.

Responsibilities:

•Design, develop, and deliver software components and services supporting AI/ML-enabled applications using Java
•Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver features
•Assist in optimizing model performance and system latency across distributed environments
•Contribute to API design and backend development using REST
•Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and uphold coding standards
•Contribute to build, deployment, and CI/CD workflows as part of delivering complete, deployable solutions

Required Skills

Qualifications:

• 2+ years' experience and bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
•Demonstrated experience delivering software components or applications in a professional or project-based setting
•Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Java, Go, Kotlin, C++…)
•Experience designing and implementing APIs or backend systems (RESTful APIs, microservices, etc.)
•Familiarity with software testing practices, including unit and integration testing
•Ability to independently execute development tasks and deliver working solutions with minimal direction
•Familiarity with AI Tools and AI First mindset
