Our client, a multinational telecommunications technology company, is looking for a Software Development Engineer II contractor to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions supporting AI-driven applications and machine learning systems. This engagement focuses on building production-ready components, improving system performance, and implementing AI-enabled features within a defined project scope.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software components and services using Java
-Implement AI-driven application functionality using Cursor
-Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and deliver new features
-Optimize model performance and system latency across distributed environments
-Experience with API design and backend development using REST
-Conduct code reviews and uphold coding best practices
-Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines and model deployment workflows
-Provide recommendations and implement improvements to system architecture, performance, and development workflows within scope

Required Skills

Qualifications:

- 5+ years' experience and bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
-Demonstrated experience delivering software applications or components in a professional or project-based setting
-Strong hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Go, Kotlin, C++-)
-Experience designing and implementing APIs and backend services (RESTful APIs, microservices, etc.)
-Familiarity with software testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows
-Ability to independently translate functional requirements into working technical solutions
