Our client, a multinational telecommunications technology company, is looking for a Software Development Engineer II contractor to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions supporting AI-driven applications and machine learning systems. This engagement focuses on building production-ready components, improving system performance, and implementing AI-enabled features within a defined project scope.

Responsibilities:

•Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software components and services using Java
•Implement AI-driven application functionality using Cursor
•Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and deliver new features
•Optimize model performance and system latency across distributed environments
•Experience with API design and backend development using REST
•Conduct code reviews and uphold coding best practices
•Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines and model deployment workflows
•Provide recommendations and implement improvements to system architecture, performance, and development workflows within scope

Required Skills

Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience and bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
•Demonstrated experience delivering software applications or components in a professional or project-based setting
•Strong hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Go, Kotlin, C++…)
•Experience designing and implementing APIs and backend services (RESTful APIs, microservices, etc.)
•Familiarity with software testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows
•Ability to independently translate functional requirements into working technical solutions
