Sr. Network and Systems Engineer

Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients, is seeking a Sr. Network and Systems Engineer with a diverse background in technology to support an existing customer in the financial space.

The initial contract is for 6-months with the potential to extend based on job performance and business need. The role is 100% Onsite M-F in downtown Boston near the Waterfront.

Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for all network hardware components including maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems.
* Support all systems and applications and provide Level 1-3 support throughout the firm
* Proactively identify and resolve potential problem areas; contribute toward ongoing process improvement and documentation
* Provide periodic after-hours support for scheduled maintenance activities and emergency support as needed
* Assist with non-networking related engineering and operational customer obligations as needed

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to customer requirement
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- 4+ years administrating enterprise environments with 24x7x365 uptime requirements
- Strong Experience deploying and managing LAN, WAN, SDWAN, VLAN and WLAN technologies
- Proficient in network routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP
- Technical expertise in network, storage, virtualization, and compute across multiple vendors
- Strong experience with VMWare Essentials and VMWare Horizon
- Experience installing switches and routers and troubleshooting same.
- Strong understanding of security protocols: TLS/SSL, etc.
- Evidence of configuring, and troubleshooting security WAN protocols: IPSec, DMVPN
- Understanding of network monitoring and analysis tools: Solarwinds, CA Spectrum, Wireshark preferred
- Experience with HP ESXI hosts, SANs, etc.
- Proficiency with Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 configuration and setup
- Strong patch management experience
- Familiarity with OWA365 Management, Azure, Intune, MDM, Email relay etc.
- Experience with Active Directory and GPO policies
- Experience with deploying and managing SSCM or other similar platforms
- Demonstrated experience providing level 3 desktop support on-site and/or remotely, providing creative solutions to complex systematic problems
- Solid understanding of networking equipment functionality and management; on-site and/or remotely (i.e. Meraki Switches and APs, Palo Alto, WatchGuard Firewalls, etc.)
