Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has 6-month contract opening for a Sr. Design Drafting Technician to support PCB layout using OrCAD and Allegro tools.. While providing leadership to a team of drafters, the Senior Design Drafting Technician will perform detailed design and documentation of mechanical components or subsystems, by producing two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) CAD work product output for fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities:

- Client will seek your counsel on determining scale, inserting necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning along with preparing specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.

- Prepare complete production detail drawings and contribute design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- An Associate's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Distinct knowledge of material requirements, fabrication techniques, and manufacturability concepts
- Experienced in the use of current strategic CAD tools; Cadence OrCAD or Cadence Allegro.
- Design and layout high-density multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard CAD tools
- Solid understanding of simple mechanical stress; structural, thermal and tolerance analysis
