We are seeking a Technical Analyst to spearhead the modernizing of our data architecture by sunsetting a critical, legacy MS Access database and designing its modern replacement. This database was custom-built 5-6 years ago to bridge reporting between SAP Ariba and Oracle, but it is now hitting its technical limits.
In this role, you will lead the comprehensive technical assessment of the current state database, map out its complex data dependencies, and architect a future-state roadmap. You will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) who bridges the gap between legacy systems and modern database technology, ensuring zero business disruption during the transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Assessment: Dive deep into a complex, homegrown MS Access database to reverse-engineer its structure, queries, macros, and logic.
- Architecture & Future State Design: Evaluate modern database technologies and provide definitive guidance/recommendations on the optimal future-state platform to replace MS Access.
- Integration Mapping: Ensure the new technical solution seamlessly maintains and improves live data connections into SAP Ariba and Oracle databases.
- Roadmapping & Strategy: Formulate technical milestones, project roadmaps, and transition plans alongside change managers and executive stakeholders.
- Data Extraction: Write advanced SQL queries to analyze data structures, validate data integrity, and ensure smooth future migrations.
- Reporting Optimization: Design the future-state infrastructure to significantly enhance overall enterprise reporting capabilities.
This position requires onsite visits to our clients Reston VA or Washington DC office 2x per month and also requires a final round onsite interview in Reston VA.

- ServiceNow: Experience with ServiceNow is a major advantage as the organization is actively undergoing an enterprise implementation.
- Healthcare Payor Industry: Prior experience working within the healthcare payor space.
- Project Management: A PMP background or strong project-tracking/milestone management experience.
