The Vice President of Enterprise Infrastructure and Cloud Transformation is a deeply technical, hands-on executive who will architect and lead the organization-s transition from legacy data centers to a modern, scalable cloud environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role owns the upcoming data center exit and the enterprise-wide migration to Microsoft Azure.
This is a high-visibility, executive-facing role requiring a leader who doesn't just provide oversight, but possesses the technical depth to guide hundreds of critical architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, and ask the sharp questions required for a seamless cloud adoption. While a dedicated CISO handles security governance, this leader must understand advanced security concepts natively to build a resilient, compliant, and secure modern infrastructure.
** Executive Impact & Future-Proofing**
As a key member of a 40-person executive tier in a high-growth 700-person company, this VP will lead a lean, high-performing organization of roughly 20 engineers and administrators. The ultimate mission is to transition the company into an AI-Native Enterprise. This leader will ensure that the new cloud and core infrastructure seamlessly integrate with the company-s AI frameworks, enabling technologies like Copilot and advanced cloud-AI models while maintaining rigid FinOps cost optimization.
** Cloud Transformation, Migration & Data Center Exit **
- Spearhead the comprehensive strategy and execution of the enterprise data center exit, shifting workloads primarily into Microsoft Azure (AWS/GCP backgrounds acceptable).
- Provide active technology leadership-not just project management-by driving architectural blueprints, infrastructure-as-code deployment models, and migration methodologies.
- Evaluate legacy workloads to make definitive, high-stakes decisions on re-platforming, refactoring, or decommissioning applications during the cloud migration.
- Drive mature Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) frameworks to monitor, optimize, and enforce cloud spend efficiency against business outcomes.
** AI Infrastructure Readiness **
- Architect a high-performance infrastructure foundation capable of supporting an AI-Native Enterprise framework.
- Oversee the integration of enterprise cloud environments with AI models, data pipelines, and intelligent tools like Microsoft Copilot.
- Champion an "AI-first" mindset across the infrastructure team, ensuring systems are optimized for data ingestion, processing speeds, and low-latency AI integrations.
** Infrastructure, Networks & Technology Operations **
- Lead all technology operations, including core compute, storage, enterprise networks, telecommunications, service desk, and platform reliability engineering (SRE).
- Establish strict service level objectives (SLOs) and operational metrics to maintain maximum uptime and platform resiliency during high-velocity transition phases.
- Manage technology capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) budgets, maximizing ROI during complex migration overlaps.
** Deep Security Alignment & Board Governance **
- Partner closely with the corporate CISO to ensure all cloud architectures natively incorporate advanced security principles, identity governance (IAM), and Zero Trust frameworks.
- Maintain audit-readiness and compliance controls (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA) embedded directly into the infrastructure continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Deliver high-impact, transparent briefings to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and Risk Committees on migration progress, technology spend, and operational resilience.
Requirements & Technical Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience with a specific emphasis on infrastructure engineering and cloud architecture.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant cloud/architecture certifications preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully executing a full data center exit and large-scale public cloud migration as a technical decision-maker.
- Deep technical fluency in public cloud ecosystems, highly prioritizing Microsoft Azure (AWS or GCP also valued).
- Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to actively debate technical strategies with peers, vendors, and the CIO, weeding out surface-level answers.
Proven experience architecting and scaling cloud infrastructure foundations optimized for an AI-Native Enterprise, with deep technical fluency in data pipeline integration, low-latency workload orchestration, and the deployment of enterprise cloud-AI frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, vector databases).
- Background operating in highly regulated environments (Healthcare, Financial Services, etc.) with a strong grasp of SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance demands.
- Leadership pedigree from Big Tech or high-scale, technology-forward environments.
- Proven expertise in establishing and scaling Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) frameworks, with a demonstrated ability to optimize multi-million dollar cloud budgets, implement strict cost-governance automation, and align Azure/public cloud spend directly with business outcomes.
- Hybrid Presence: Ability to work out of Westbury NY office 2-3 times per week is strictly required.
