Web Writer/Editor and Content Manager

100% REMOTE based Senior Web Writer/Editor and Content Manager position available to support our Healthcare IT client. This position is designated as a long term contract opportunity, but could lead to FTE status in the future. The selected candidate will execute and develop site content strategies and content that keep the target audience engaged and informed. S/he will be the primary lead in support of key customer-facing web projects and corporate initiatives. The role effectively drives corporate business strategy, goals, and priorities in partnership with the content strategist/information architect, junior writers, web administrators, UI/UX and the product team.

- 40% - Leads web content projects, keeping business stakeholders and managers/senior leaders informed of the progress development and implementation. Works closely with business divisions to understand opportunities and priorities and provides strategic oversight and direction of various communications needs to ensure the highest quality standards for content across the site. Makes recommendations for appropriate content, content organization and content stylization for optimal site user experience.
- 35% - Leads the development and amplification of digital communication, including but not limited to, the organization and editing of content as required by business needs/goals. Ensures proper web content styles/standards, writing style, grammar, etc., and search engine optimization guidelines are followed. Writes new page content or introductory content as needed. Effectively prioritizes project work and delivers on time with exceptional quality and consistency across the site. Tests and validates updates meet production standards, style guide standards and are made accurately. Ensures the site-s content is compliant with current legal and branding regulations. Performs regular audits and evaluations of the website-s content and content standards.
- 15% - Direct and work in conjunction with all cross-functional resources including but not limited to Business Divisions, Communications, Brand, Product Management, Organizational Strategy, Legal and Compliance. Represents the team as the SME in web content and content management. Trains business unit stakeholders on best practices for content management. Advocates for user- and strategy-centered web content management practices. Contributes to improvements in findability and searchability through improved taxonomies, navigation labels and page titles.
- 10% - Serves as a mentor to other writers, editors and web specialists. On-boards new team members by training and educating them on the corporate processes, best-practices and style guidelines.

Required Skills

- Exceptional writing and editing skill, mastery of English and grammar, and ability to follow and manage a corporate style guide
- Proven experience working within an Information Technology (IT) related environment/organization is CRITICAL (Health IT is a BIG PLUS)
- Proven experience in web content management, writing and editing
- Ability to conduct research to obtain needed information
- Seeks out and proactively engages stakeholders with recommendations and requirements for site improvements is necessary; this individual must lead the change
- Works independently to manage multiple projects while keeping stakeholders and content owners informed of progress and aware of any potential problems
- Thinks globally and understands how content edits on one area of a website may impact other areas of the site and/or related content
- Communicates challenges or technical information in a non-technical manner to management and internal content/business owners and stakeholders
- Fast learner in a new environment

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Highly flexible to new assignments and work changes
- Experience working in Content Management Systems
