Computer Operator

Immediate opportunity for a Computer Operator professional to support our client, a major Federal Health Plan in the BWI Maryland area. The individual will execute and monitor batching jobs impacting our customers claims systems, and assure accurate recordkeeping and timely delivery of output to internal members. Additional responsibilities include, identifying, researching, referring, and resolving operational issues as they are presented. Daily monitoring of system performance and necessary corrective action initiation will be required.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the Xerox Nuvera Printing Systems (high volume printing system) running on InfoPrint Manager software (Primary responsibility)
- Monitor assigned computer equipment and verifies that expected input files have been transferred correctly.
- Start computer runs per operations direction and monitor correct completion of batch runs and production output files.
- Monitor operations and system monitors, analyze problems and initiate corrective action in accordance with standard procedure and within the scope of knowledge and authority.
- Perform required setup and takedown functions in an expeditious and efficient manner.
- Enter input data and remove outputs as required by application programs.
- Perform administrative duties pertaining to system operations, monitoring, scheduling and management

The selected candidate will be required to be onsite 5 days per week for the first 6 months, then will only be onsite 1 day per week there afterwards. This is a 35 hour work week. Hours are 3:00pm to 10:30pm, Mon-Fri.

Required Skills

1. Three years experience in a Windows environment using Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Must have batch printing experience (support of a high volume printing system)
3. Must have experience with FTP (file transfer protocol) clients.
4. Must have experience with UNIX cron job execution and monitoring.
5. Must be capable of routinely and repeatedly lifting 40 pounds.

Preferred experience will include:
1. 2022 Microsoft Windows Server
2. Data Card ID Card printer
3. Xerox Nuvera Printing Systems
4. InfoPrint Manager
5. Industry standard job scheduling and automation software (JAMS preferred )
6. SQL Reporting
7. Web application execution
