Sr. Unified Communications Engineer


Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients, is seeking a Sr. Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to help an existing International Commercial Customer in VoIP evolution and transformation projects.

The position is mostly Remote, but may require an occasional onsite visit. Our client is looking to onboard as a 6 month contract with the option to extend based on job performance and business need.


* Business needs analysis in technical projects context - Functional requirements and technical specifications document realization
* Technical Service requests implementation - Configuration modification and expertise requests management
* Level 3 Support on VoIP and Visio incidents - Users support
Strong Involvement in current Unified Communications Transformation projects:
* Stream 1 - PSTN Connectivity Evolution: Replace Local telephony access with Regional Telephony Hub
* Stream 2 - New Device Policy and Standard Definition: Replace Hard phones by Softphones and Meeting rooms video-conferencing Renovation, Standardization and Deployment
* Stream 3 - UC Solution: Replace and Unify Enterprise Telephony solution for all customer employees - Customer Care Modernization

Additionally, the resource is actively acting on:
* Migration or operation plan adjustment, validation and/or coordination
* Change management, coordination and technical requests management
* Visio documentation realization and updates
* Incidents and problems management: technical analysis, coordination in incident resolution
* Maintenance in operational conditions of VoIP capacity and vulnerabilities management
* Business needs and request qualifications - be the link with Business analyst and technical experts in order to understand Functional requirements and technical specifications definition and potentially get some updates
* Configuration Audit and Continuous Improvement Plan management

Required Skills

* Must be US Citizen / Permanent Resident per client requirement
* BS Degree in IT field or equivalent and more than 5 years of experience in Unified Communications (UC) production and operations
* Strong experience with Visio (develop, read and modify diagrams)
* Network technical skills required
* Strong understanding of building blocks of the information system, application layers, servers, virtualization, Cloud will be appreciated
* Other desired skills include: Leadership, rigorous, curious, autonomous, communicating, resistant to stress, team spirit

* Videoconferencing: CVI (Bluejeans, PexIP), MTR LAN/WIFI: Switching/Routing SD-WAN VeloCloud Filtering/VPN/IPS: Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet
* User Proxy and Remote Access: Zscaler ZIA and ZPA
