EDI SME/Architect


Seeking a Healthcare EDI SME/Architect to assist our customer, a NCQA Accredited Population Health Management organization that is focused on Value Based Healthcare, with several key projects due to company growth. The primary project to start will be a total EDI transformation upgrade to accommodate the growth and technology expansion. This position provides senior level development and support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes and utilities, including testing, implementing and maintaining EDI transactions. The selected candidate will act as a visionary/consultant to our customer to leverage industry best practices, evaluate current state, and recommend, develop, implement and support new EDI vision and supporting processes. The position plays a key role in our clients strategy and will lead efforts in modernizing and rebuilding the EDI environment to support substantial growth. This position is expected to proactively identify opportunities to utilize technology to solve technical and business problems. The selected candidate will replace manual and legacy procedures with industry best practices to support automation at scale that works along our client's long term strategy.

Although this position is remote and can only be hired in certain states, the selected candidate will be required to occasionally (1-2x per quarter) travel to the office in Olympia, WA. Required Skills


- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
- Experience with Citra EZ-CAP or similar systems is considered a BIG PLUS
- Working knowledge of file transfer protocols including HTTPs, FTP, SFTP is a BIG PLUS
- 5+ years of experience directly related and progressively responsible experience in EDI systems, preferably in a healthcare environment. Hands-on X12 health care insurance transaction (834, 837, 270, 271, 999 etc.) data mapping and issue resolution experience.Solid understanding of the EDI needs and processes of both small and large organizations with the ability to implement best-of-breed, enterprise-class solutions to support rapid growth.
- 6 + years of experience in the development and/or support of software systems are required.
- 3+ years related experience including developing requirements, designing and executing test cases in IT
- Ability to document standard operating procedures and best practice to support environment of continuous improvement.
- Experience writing complex SQL scripts.
- Meticulous attention to detail; the ability to juggle several tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar.
- Proficient in creating, developing and producing mapping documents.
- Solid understanding of business requirements and ability to apply supporting solutions.
- Ability to translate business needs into high-level technical specifications and design.
- Working knowledge of EDI configuration/solutions evaluation/ Validation and deployment.
- Knowledge of state, federal and local regulations concerning use, disclosure and confidentiality of all patient records including a strong knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Act.
- Detail-oriented person who is passionate about quality and is enthusiastic about new technology.
