Immediate contract to permeant opportunity for a LifeRay DXP Developer / Administration professional! Our customer, a major Federal Healthcare Insurance organization in the Reston VA area, is seeking a hybrid LifeRay professional that can provide both development (80%) and administration (20%) support to assist their team with the design, develop and support applications built on the Liferay DXP Platform in an agile framework. The selected candidate will work with product management team to develop overall scope and work plan for implementing requirements, along with:

- Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements.
- Drive continuous improvements, make recommendations and advise on organization-wide system improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts in software, software development methodologies, lifecycle management, modeling, and simulation.
- Collaborate with analysts in documenting and capturing software requirements in the form of epics, features, user stories, process models and use cases in an agile development environment.
- Work with programmers at all levels of technical ability by assisting them in the customization and development of a communications portal based on Liferay DXP.
- Review existing documentation to understand system functionality and use that information to implement functionality in the modernized grant case management system.
- Provide guidance and training for the development, maintenance, and updating of Web pages to junior members of the team.

This position is a contract to permanent opportunity, affording the selected candidate career growth and stability. This position is currently 100% remote, however our customer is planning to return to their Reston VA office in the future. We are only seeking candidates that reside in a neighboring state to Virginia, and is able/willing to convert to FTE associate status with our customer.

Required Skills

- BS Degree is required
- 8+ years of hands on LifeRay support as both a developer (80%) and an administrator (20%).
- 3+ years as a Lead is required
- Basic knowledge of frontend technologies is required. One or more would suffice: Angular, React, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
- Experienced in installing and patching Liferay DXP instances including clusters
- Experience managing the Liferay DXP environments for development, validation and production
- Managing Liferay DXP in Cloud (AWS preferred) instances
- Installing and patching Elastic Search. Knowledgeable about Elastic Search engines, assist in improving Search results for Liferay DXP.
- Patching of Liferay, OpenJDK and associated third party utilities on Windows and Linux
- Establishing process for data refresh from production to lower environment on regular basis
- Assisting Developers in setting up "local" environment
- Experienced as a Developer in a Scrum Framework actively participating in Scrum Ceremonies and Backlog Refinement.
