Functional Tester (Healthcare Claims)


Seeking a Functional Tester, with Healthcare Claims Testing experience, to support our customer in the Washington DC area (100% remote but does require occasional onsite meetings in Washington DC). The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, modifying, and executing software test plans, test scenarios, defines and solves for test data needs, automated scripts, and programs for testing in order to ensure the outgoing software and technical products meet and exceed quality standards. Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software engineers and product owners. May participate in the review of software design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-50% Responsible for analyzing the requirements, operational problems, specifications and change requests. Produce test plans and test cases to determine presence and scope of potential code defects. Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates. Perform test execution of all assigned test cases. Log defects in system in record. Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions
-50% Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality is not compromised, new functionality is working as designed, and recommends corrective action. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.

Required Skills


-3 to 5 years years of experience in a Functional Testing role, within a Healthcare Insurance organization supporting the testing efforts of Healthcare Claims efforts (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
-Integration, Unit and functional testing abilities is key. User acceptance testing would be good to know as well.
-Strong ability to research for actual defects on direct interfaces, provide search efforts to fix any interface issues, and then ensure the fixes are properly completed.
-Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
-Jira knowledge for bug tracking is required

Big plus:
-Any automation knowledge (Selenium)
-Ability to read and write SW code
