Elite Technical is seeking a Manufacturing Design engineer, with any sort of Explosive and/or Energetic background. Our client-s 1300+ sq foot manufacturing facility is a state-of-the-art for inception to testing activities with explosive related products for their customers. The selected candidate should have knowledge is designing explosive or energetic related products, and have experience to direct, oversee, and participate in quoting, product design and development, process development and improvement, and equipment purchase and implementation for a fast-paced energetics manufacturing company. Duties include:
- Evaluate all processes in the plant and implement improvements based on operator input, new/improved equipment, design changes, etc. with the goals of safety, quality, and reduced cost/waste.
- Research new or improved equipment, arrange for the specification/design and purchase of new equipment, and oversee the installation and start-up of new equipment.
- Design, purchase, and implement new tooling and fixtures for various production products.
- Be involved in the design of new explosive products from proof of concept, prototypes, testing, pilot scale, and scale-up to manufacturing. This includes product design, testing, and verification and validation.
- Create test plans that support company or customer test requirements.
- Manage customer programs and internal projects to ensure all requirements such as schedule, budget, and resources are met.
- Participate in the quoting process by reviewing customer requirements; assisting in a bid/no-bid decision; and providing tooling/equipment costs, raw materials costs, packaging, cycle times, and labor hours
- Equipment purchase and implementation: Research new or improved equipment, arrange for the specification/design and purchase of new equipment, oversee the installation and start-up of new equipment.
- Help manage customer programs to ensure all customer requirements are met as either a principal on the project or in support of a larger team. This may be in conjunction with any other aspect of the job.
- Provide product and tooling designs and drawings using Solidworks and Autocad, perform or assist in failure analysis, perform or assist in hazards analysis, provide any additional engineering support to the operations group as necessary.

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred (years of experience can replace degree)
- Seeking 5 years experience designing / manufacturing explosive and/or energetic types of products (not seeking user of products, must have the designing/manufacturing knowledge)
- Ability to use 3D solid modeling. Experience with Solidworks is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Ability to perform Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling in CTH or similar a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- An understanding of machinery, tooling, electro-mechanical systems a plus.
