Immediate FTE opportunity for a VMware Engineer/Architect to join our client supporting a government contract in Washington DC! The selected candidate will have experience with Designing and implementing several VMWare virtualization solutions on IaaS systems, including fail-over / replication, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions to meets customers Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for VMWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Exchange, SQL and Oracle DB server environments. Duties include:

- Engage and provide customer support to USNO departments (Astrometry Department [AD], Earth Orientation [EO], Astronomical Applications [AA], and USNO-Flagstaff [NOFS])
- Engage with Information Assurance staff to ensure compliance with DoD requirements.
- Requires preparation and maintenance of documentation
- Provided VDI and IaaS utilization, performance, reliability across heterogeneous architectures - HP / Dell, or other-
- Provided architecture expertise in design, implementation and administrative support of VMWare ESXi servers for Windows, LINUX, and UNIX infrastructures.
- VMWare VSphere 5/6 Architect with VMWare HA, Storage and VMWare VMotion, DRS and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) virtual infrastructure solutions.

This position is onsite in Washington DC. Ability to work 2 days telework per week could become available after the initial 30 days of employment/training. Some travel to Charleston SC for networking training must also be acceptable.

Required Skills

- Due to the government nature of this position, a Top Secret DOD Clearance is required along with SCI eligibility
- 10 years- experience managing VHE systems with a Technical Degree at B.S. required; M.S. desired.
- VMware Certified Professional for Data Center certification (6.0 or higher) = REQUIRED
- Security Plus or any DoD accepted equivalent certification for privileged access = REQUIRED
- Experience in Cyber Security as it relates to DoD policy for virtual infrastructure
- 10 years- experience managing VHE systems
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise virtual architecture design and implementation of VMware infrastructure as a Service; VSphere, vCenter, VROps technologies for servers, virtual desktops, storage solutions, and application infrastructure management
