Our client, a prestigious Federal contractor, is seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on DevOps methodologies to join our IT team. This role requires a deep understanding of both software development and IT operations, aiming to bridge gaps between systems, teams, and processes.

The role is mostly remote and the candidate will need to be in the DMV area and available to come onsite 1-2 days per month as needed. Our client is looking to onboard as a 6-month contract to hire.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of integrated systems solutions to support enterprise objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust automation workflows for software build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Architect and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and operational activities.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and other IT teams to ensure seamless, high-quality software delivery.
- Conduct systems analysis and evaluation to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Ensure systems integration aligns with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Provide expert guidance and support for DevOps tools and practices, facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
- Manage and monitor integrated systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Lead root cause analysis for system issues and implement strategic solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in systems integration and DevOps, recommending adoption of new tools and practices where beneficial.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirements with the ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a directly related field is required (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture.
- Strong expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their management APIs.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Should have experience with Windows OS
- Should have experience with hardware
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration.
