Network Design Engineer

Immediate need for a Network Design Professional with specific knowledge within Operational Technology (OT) Network Design within a manufacturing and/or energy related environment! The selected candidate will become a Member of our client's technical team engaging with government contractor at in Independence, MO to develop design package deliverables to meet project objectives. High-level project objectives Include:

- Leveraging current state documentation, the project team will create an architecture that supports the process control environment that includes a system resources and entities that have the right to access resources defined by a common security policy or model.
- Best practices in systems and security engineering will be applied to the decomposition of the OT systems and appropriate summary network segmentation in a Purdue Model/Network Map/Network Diagram deliverable for the client.
- Project will include interviews, discussion, collaboration, and review sessions with client stakeholders.
- Security Infrastructure considerations to be leveraged in this project include the following:
1. Centralized Logging
2. Patch Management
3. Vulnerability Management
4. Configuration Management
5. Authentication and Authorization
6. Asset Management
7. Asset Discovery
8. Multifactor Access for Administration
9. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

Although this position is primarily remote, there will be onsite meetings at at the client site in Independence Missouri (Travel would be 1-2 times a month at the beginning then tapper off as time goes on.)

Required Skills

Required skills and experience:
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with network topology and administrative commands in an industrial control environment;
- Experience working with OT or ICS equipment and processes, preferably in manufacturing however other industrial sector experience may meet requirement;
- Experience applying industrial control systems (ICS) standards such as NIST SP 800-82, IEC 62443 or other similar industry standard;
- Extensive experience with Visio is a must including cross-referencing ICS inventory of equipment, devices, systems, and applications and use of design stencils;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required;

Preferred skills and experience:
- Network design experience particularly design and documentation using Purdue Model and/or network diagrams;
- Experience with OT network segmentation is highly desirable;
- Experience managing, cataloging, or inventorying OT assets and systems;
- Product experience includes, but is not limited to, Cisco, Allen Bradley, Fortinet, Schneider Electric, National Instruments, Phoenix Contact, Juniper Networks, and Lantronix;
- Should have experience in industrial control environment and familiarity with safety processes and protocols;
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 is preferred but not required.
