Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a leading national provider of federal defense drones, security drones, and public safety drones is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design of complex structures for high-performance multi-rotor drone systems, from initial concept through production. You will assist in integrating
ISR and radio transceiver equipment from various suppliers, ensuring compatibility with our client-s modular
payload system.

The position is 100% onsite in Sanford, FL, and our client is looking to onboard as a Direct Hire as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
1) Design and Integration
- Contribute to the design of complex structures for high-performance multi-rotor drone systems from
concept through production
- Integrate ISR and radio transceiver equipment from various suppliers, ensuring compatibility with our
modular payload system

2) Technical Support and Process Improvement:
- Provide technical support to the mechanical engineering team, especially in areas of vibration analysis
and thermal design
- Contribute to the maturation of the design process, including Trade Studies, Concept, PRD, and CDR

3) Product Development and Optimization:
- Contribute to the development of new features and products on the product roadmap
- Optimize new and existing designs for quality and cost efficiency, utilizing advanced CAD and
ECAD/MCAD exchange formats

Required Skills

- Per client requirement, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident legally able to work in the US
- Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years Mechanical Engineering experience (prefer 10+ years experience)
- Minimum of 3 years Defense or Aerospace industry experience
- Proven track record in product development
- Demonstrated experience in vibration mode analysis (FEA) and thermal management solutions
- MIL-STD design experience is a plus
- Experience in electronics packaging
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
- Experience in using ECAD/MCAD exchange formats (IDF/IDX
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong initiative, goal-oriented and dedicated to meeting company objectives

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
