Our client, a leading national provider of federal defense drones, security drones, and public safety drones is seeking an Electrical Engineer to play a crucial role in the electronic systems development for
our high-performance aerial systems, ground stations, and test fixtures. In this role, you will contribute to PCB design, testing, and the refinement of our products to ensure they meet the rigorous demands of our clients.
The position is 100% onsite in Sanford, FL, and our client is looking to onboard as a Direct Hire as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Development and Support
- Assist in developing high-power and control electronics for aerial systems from initial concept through
production
- Support aspects of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, and testing
- Learn and apply advanced PCB layout techniques
- Use ECAD and simulation tools (Altium, LTSpice) for design and development tasks under supervision
2) Analysis and Assistance
- Help conduct electronics failure analysis and support the implementation of mitigation strategies
- Assist with RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 and associated RF noise mitigation efforts
- Contribute to developing and improving electronics documentation related to electronics, from design
to manufacturing to testing
3) Teamwork and Learning
- Work with technicians to support electronic assembly and test procedures
- Contribute ideas for new features or products under guidance
- Collaborate with senior engineers and contract manufacturers to learn about the manufacturing and
delivery processes of electronic subassemblies
- Engage in learning opportunities to understand unmanned systems for product enhancement and
troubleshooting
REPORTS TO: Manager, Electrical Engineering
- Per client requirement, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident legally able to work in the US
- Bachelor-s degree in Electrical Engineering (or comparable)
- 2-5 years of PCB design experience
- Eagerness to learn all phases of PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and testing
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills
- Interest in integrating Computer on Module (CoM) and/or System on Modules (SoM) a plus
- Familiarity with Altium, Mentor Graphics, PADS, Xpedition, Autodesk Eagle, or Mentor Graphics HyperLynx
