Quality Engineer

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Quality Engineer in their Greensboro, NC facility. The Quality Engineer will design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products, this person will have the opportunity to help our nation-s heroes make a true impact. You'll be the owner of the quality function in one or more production shops and design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.

Duties and Tasks:
- Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
- Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
- Reviews Documents/Drawings/Instructions for conformance to requirements
- Provides resolution to problems of moderate scope
- Compares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies implementation of rework
- Collects, organizes and analyzes project data, generates and/or reviews metrics
- Performs audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation
- Participates in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews
- Verifies compliance to defined requirements
- Witnesses and or monitors test activities
- Receives instructions from immediate supervisor
- Contact with multiple work groups
- Works under general supervision
- Interfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel
- Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
- Works as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects
Participates as an active member of the project team.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (preferred at time of hire)
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
- Solid knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools and standards
- Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to multi-task
- Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
- Solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
- Solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings
- Solid skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
- Solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
- Solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools
