Mechanical Engineering - CAD Tools (Remote)

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has a long-term contract opening for a Mechanical Engineer with strong modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings. You will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines.

This position is 100% Remote.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be able to obtain Secret (active Secret is desirable)
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Must have some level of Defense industry background
- Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings, primarily with SolidWorks, some Creo
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
- Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards
- Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
- Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others

Preferred skills or experiences:
- Design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry
- Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
