Geospatial Systems Engineer

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has a long-term opening for a Geospatial Systems Engineer responsible to design and implement geospatial solutions on programs supporting national security. You will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for development and maintenance of command and control and data processing systems.

This position will require you to be onsite Monday to Friday and work out of our client's McLeansville, NC facility.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required at time of hire.
- BA/BS or Master's in Computer Science, GIS, or related interdisciplinary majors or related fields (e.g., mathematics, science, engineering)
- Requires 5+ years of job-related experience
- Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing GIS and database solutions
- Demonstrated proficiency geospatial analysis and implementation.
- Familiarity with the ArcGIS suite of products
- Ability to maintain and update DBMSs, preferably SQL Server
- Familiarity setting up and working in ArcGIS Enterprise in a virtual environment
- Experience creating Python tools, JavaScript applications, and Java

Preferred skills or experiences:
- Experience with source code management tools, such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment
- Comfortable presenting recommendations and technical solutions to clients
- Has a passion for growing and mastering new skills, keeps up to date with new tools and techniques, identifies and implements system improvements, and mentors teammates.
