Elite Technical is seeking a DevOps Engineer for Cloud platform infrastructure engineer support. The selected candidate will implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support application deployments. Support cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), EKS Kubernetes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
** 50% Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains CI/CD pipelines, performs application release deployments in Test and Production environments. Submit change management tickets, represent on the CAB calls. Develop and implement techniques in CI/CD to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services and supports root cause analysis. Support disaster recovery and audits. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud services
** 50% Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Groovy to streamline operational processes and deployments. Collaborate with development and testing teams to enhance system scalability, performance, and reliability. Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows-based production environments. Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
This position is a contract to permanent opportunity. Although primarily remote, there are monthly meetings onsite at our clients DC, MD or VA office; to accommodate this request, we are seeking candidates that reside in one of the following states: DC, MD, VA, WV. This position also requires some weekend support (1x per month)
-Education Level: Bachelor's Degree required, In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
-Experience: Minimum of 3 years of DevOps and/or Cloud Systems Engineering
- Must be able to be available for weekend support based on the application release deployments and maintenance activities.
- Must have solid verbal and writing communication skills
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using Groovy
- Understanding of container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS and EC2.
- Understanding of microservice concepts
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch
- Experience with code management systems (Git, Subversion)
- Basic knowledge in maintaining Java web applications (Spring Boot) - highly preferred
