Systems Engineer (Electrical/Optical System)

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Systems Engineer with design and qualification of electrical and/or optical systems for Undersea Maritime Systems. You will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing a test program to every system and subsystem requirements.

The initial contract term is 6 months with the likelihood for extension or conversion based on job performance and business need. The position is Hybrid/Flex with minimum 3 days per week in office at our client's Design Center in McLeansville, NC.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be able and willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (active Secret is preferred)
- Requires a Bachelor-s degree in STEM field and 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
- Agile experience preferred.
- Design and Qualification of electrical systems
- Design and Qualification of optical systems
- Electrical/Optical system design including requirement allocation and decomposition
- Requirements Lifecycle Management
- New product development and transition to manufacturing
- Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
- Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools
- Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
