Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has an immediate opening in Manassas, VA for a Jr level Software Engineer with Java, C/C++ to be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and developing software supporting the U.S. Navy's platforms within the Tactical (Common Weapon Launcher and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator).

The initial contract is for 6 months with the strong potential to extend or convert based on job performance. The selected SW Engineer will be required to work 100% onsite Monday to Friday in Manassas, VA.

Required Skills

- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM field and 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Java
- Experience with C/C++
- Experience with Linux and Bash
- Experience with React and Typescript
- Clear understanding of the software development process, with agile experience
- Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
- Agile experience preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with Navy's Common Weapon Launcher and/or Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator is a BIG PLUS.
