Tool Builds / DevOps Engineer - MUOS

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has multiple openings for Cloud DevOps and Platform Engineers on their MUOS team in Scottsdale, AZ. Together with the MUOS Tools and CSEL development teams, you will support successful implementation of a PaaS in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.

The initial contract is for 6-12 months with the strong potential to extend or convert based on job performance. This position can be Hybrid with a minimum of three days working onsite at our client's Scottsdale, AZ facility.


POSITION OBJECTIVES:

- Develop, evolve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines: Automating integration and deployment processes to ensure smooth and frequent releases by project teams (ie. GitLab CI).
- Infrastructure management: Automating and managing the infrastructure provisioning and configuration to support scalability and reliability (ie. Terraform, Ansible).
- Ensuring security integration: Implementing security automated measures at every stage of the software development lifecycle to prevent vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration: Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility.
- Scripting and coding: Writing scripts and code to automate processes and integrate various systems and tools (ie. Python, Terraform ,Ansible).
- Continuous improvement: Continuously looking for ways to improve processes, tooling, and the overall system performance and security.
- Driving cloud solutions to realize benefits: Leverage cloud (ie. AWS/Azure GovCloud) for increased workflow efficiencies and realized scalable virtualized test environments. (ie. digital twins)

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret (active Secret is preferred at time of hire)
- Requires a Bachelor--'--"-s degree in STEM field and 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.
- Experienced with Kubernetes K8s
- Experience with Government Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RK2E)
- Experience with building and deploying Kubernetes PODs and ReplicaSets
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with DevSecOps (Gitlab, GitlabRunner, SAST, DAST, NeuVector, Ansible, or similar automation tools)
- A Plus if Experience with Longhorn, Argo, ArgoCD, Keycloak, Persistent Volumes, Terraform
- A Plus if Experience with bash, Python or other scripting languages
