Immediate opening for Optical Transport Support Technician with experience supporting the Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical platform of products. The position is nationwide / home based providing installation / implementation on networking and infrastructure projects and filling the role as the
Ciena 6500 subject matter expert (SME).

**Expectations and deliverables of the Field Service Technicians include**
• Provide implementation functions for DISA with a focus on Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical platform of products
• Perform equipment surveys and installations, including network infrastructure build-out, mounting telecommunication hardware, cable/fiber installation, terminations and testing
• Site infrastructure installations and surveys - racks, cable racks, power, grounding, cabling, etc.
• Circuit wiring, inspection, testing, and activation
• Network node decommissioning and de-installation
• Develop implementation plans, completion reports, and status reports providing detailed documentation of network configuration
• Equipment surveys and installations that include network routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic material, switches, firewalls, and timing and synchronization
• Perform Small to Large sized surveys and installations with no oversight

Qualified technicians must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance, live within reasonable proximity of a Commercial Airport and be willing and able to travel extensively; 75-90% - typically, deployed for 2 weeks, home for a 2 to 3 days, deployed for another 2 weeks. Weekend travel is possible. All travel expenses covered + per diem. **Qualifications**
• Per Contract - selected candidates MUST be US Citizens
• Active DOD Secret clearance required (will accept interim clearances in process already)
• Four (4+) plus years network infrastructure build-out and network surveys
• Current with 2+ years Optical Transport Support
• Current with 2+ years supporting the Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical platform
• Open and able to travel 90% CONUS
• OCONUS available but not required

**Technical Skills and Experience**
• Experience surveying and installing
- Optical Transport Support
- circuit transition expertise, understanding of protocols for testing and managing circuit downtime
- Mounting telecommunication hardware, cable/fiber installation, cable/fiber terminations and cable/fiber testing
- Network routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic material, switches, firewalls, timing and synchronization and communications devices

**Preferences (should be noted) **
• Worked in DOD/DISA IT network environment
• Defense Communication Operations (DCO) environment
• Ciena/Sycamore/Coriant/Juniper/Cisco
• ANSI/TIA standards
• BICSI Credentials
• OEM networking certifications
• Bachelor's Degree or higher is desired but not required
